Matkaan kohdistuneet odotukset olivat korkealla, mutta siitä huolimatta matka onnistui ylittämään odotukseni. EF:n esitteessä (jonka saat tilattua ilmaseks tästä) kerrottiin, että matkan aikana saa elinikäisiä ystäviä. Minä en uskonut ja olin väärässä. Tutustuin upeisiin ihmisiin ja aion pitää heihin yhteyttä jatkossakin - suomalaisia ystäviä näen varmasti jatkossa ja ruotsalaisten kanssa voin jutella Facebookissa. Ikävä on suuri, niin Brightoniin kuin ystävien luoksekin. Jos voisin kokea jotakin uudestaan, se olisi tämä matka.
Kielimatka on ainutlaatuinen sekoitus seikkailua, ystäviä, itsenäisyyttä ja hauskanpitoa. Sitä on vaikea selittää kuvin ja sanoin, se täytyy vain kokea itse.
I had really high expectations about the trip but I got even more than that. The EF brochure (which you can order for free by clicking this) said that I'd make friends for life. I didn't believe it and I was terribly wrong. I got to know some amazing people and I'm going to be in contact with them. I can meet my Finnish friends for sure and I have Facebook for the Swedish ones. I miss both Brighton and my friends so much that if I could live a moment of my life again, it would be the three weeks in Brighton.
A language trip is an unique blend of adventures, friends, independence and fun. It's hard to explain it by pictures and words, you just have to experience it yourself.

Elämäni suurin seikkailu oli ohi, kun lentokoneen pyörät laskeutuivat Helsinki-Vantaan kiitoradalle kolme päivää sitten. Minä olin Suomessa, kaikki tutuksi tullut kaukana Brightonissa ja puolet uusista ystävistäni Ruotsissa. Kun heräsin seuraavana aamuna omasta sängystä, tuntui uskomattomalta, miten nopeasti nämä kolme viikkoa olivat kuluneet ja miten paljon tässä ajassa olikaan ehtinytkään tapahtua. Näin Big Benin, Buckingham Palacen, Piccadilly Circusin ja London Eyen nähtävyysreissulla Lontooseen. Matkustin yksin bussilla myöhään illalla, juttelin tuntemattomalle pojalle - joka osoittautui toiseksi EF:n oppilaaksi - bussipysäkillä ja luulin eksyneeni, vaikka olin menossa oikeaan suuntaan. Astuin tuntemattomien ihmisten taloon asuakseni siellä kolme viikkoa. Tapasin ihmiset joiden kanssa olin jutellut Facebookissa aikaisemmin, sekä paljon ihmisiä joita en ollut koskaan tavannut missään. Sain ystäviä niin Suomesta kuin muualtakin maailmasta, sellaisia ystäviä joita en tule koskaan unohtamaan. Lähtöpäivänä hyvästelin samaiset ystävät itkuisena, mutta seuraavana päivänä juttelimme jo Facebookissa. Lupasimme, että joskus vielä nähdään. Ehkä elämäni suurin seikkailu ei olekaan ohi. Minulla on yhä uudet ystäväni, toisella puolella Suomea Ruotsissa - yksi jopa Virossa - niin kovin kaukana mutta silti niin lähellä. Ja minulla on muistoja, niin paljon muistoja, että ne täytyy koota sanoiksi tänne, etten vain unohda. Kiitos jokaiselle, joka on ollut mukana tekemässä näitä muistoja, kiitos EF, kiitos liiderit, kiitos kaikki suomalaiset/virolaiset ystävät - mainittakoon Miia, Daniela, Meeri ja Enni - sekä ruotsalaiset ystävät, erityisesti Kajsa. I knew that the biggest adventure of my life was over when I felt the wheels of our airplane land to the landing strip of the Finnish airport three days ago. I was in Finland while everything that had become familiar to me was in Brighton and half of my friend were in Sweden! When I woke up next morning it was hard to believe how fast these weeks had passed by but how much had happened during that time. I saw Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus and London Eye during our sightseeing visit in London. I traveled alone by bus late at night, talked to a random boy - who turned out to be another EF student - at the bus stop and thought I was lost though I was going to the right direction. I stepped inside the house of an elderly couple I had never met before to live three weeks with them. I met everyone I had talked to on Facebook and also other people that I knew nothing about. I made new friends, people from Finland and Sweden (and one girl from Estonia), people that I'm never going to forget. At the last day I had to say goodbye to every one of them, but at the next day we were already talking on Facebook. We promised each other that we will see again! Maybe the biggest adventure of my life isn't over after all. I still have my new friends - they live at the other side on Finland or in Sweden, one of them in Estonia, so far away but still so close. I have the memories - so much memories, that I have to write them down somewhere so that I can remember everything. I want to thank everyone that has been a part of these memories. Thanks to EF, my leaders, my Finnish/Estonian friends - I'll mention Miia, Daniela, Meeri and Enni - and my Swedish friend, especially this hot, blonde, sex-faced babe, min tjej Kajsa! ♥ I love you all!
